April 7th, 2026 | Giants 6 - 0 Phillies

Another beautiful day, another day of rollercoaster action from the San Francisco Giants. The Giants coming off a four game losing streak find their groove and cruise to a 6-0 win over the Phillies. If there's one consistent factor of the Giants is that the team will hover around .500 for the whole year. This year, although they have a better roster, seems like it's going to be the same thing once again. That's not to say they can't improve, but that there needs to be consistency within the team. This matches MVP has to be once again Daniel Susac. It seems whenever he plays there is a momentum shift. No disrespect to Pat Bailey, but you cannot be batting below .100, and poorly year after year. I'm not saying Susac takes the starting spot, but should definitely be more involved in the rotation. He finally snapped his perfect hit record with a popfly out to first, and on his next at bat, triples, and record two RBI's.

It's hard not to get excited about a catcher who has a great arm and is batting so well, especially as a rookie, slightly reminiscent about Buster Posey's come up.

Additionally, Willy Adames and Arraez and Chapman all had great games. Willy getting two doubles as a lead off hitter was part of his great day. However, Adames reminds us why he's one of the best in his position. He picks up a ground ball at full speed, momentum going away from him and gets the runner at first out. Textbook for Willy Adames at an insanely high level. Luis Arraez continues to deliver in his first season with the Giants. Although the whole team is inconsistent with hitting, he's addition to the team has been valuable. Arraez finished with a single and two RBI's. Finally, Matt Chapman, one of the leaders on the team also performed well with, a double, two singles, and a RBI. On the defensive side, he brought in a double play, which for a Golden Glove player, textbook.

Robbie Ray was the starting pitcher today and I liked what I saw from him today. More confident pitching, and although he had a few walks and hits given up, he kept the match scoreless. Which at the end of the day, is what matters in winning games. It seems like he is now settling into the season which is great, and I hope the rest of our pitchers do the same.

Overall, this match a change of batting order with Encarnacion, Susac, and Oliva batting for the Giants. I think the batting improved vastly from the other matches, and needs to continue. Consistency is the main key in the Giants making the playoffs this year, especially with a better team than in years past.
