Willy Adames Sliding to Home

SF Giants 9 - 3 SD Padres

The San Francisco Giants are on their two game win streak in the series versus the Padres. Tonight's MVP is Willy Adames, putting up a home run, run, rbi, and two singles. Aside from his dominant offensive play today, he cleaned up on the other side of the field, with a double play with Luis Arraez and fielding 5 balls to first base. Next to Adames, Chapman shined in last night's match with a homerun, single, run, and a pair of ground balls fielded into first.

This matches hitting was a vast improvement from the Yankee series, there is still Pat Bailey who needs to work on his batting, but his defensive acumen is hard to replace. The pitching in this game I was pleasantly surprised with. It wasn't Logan Webb's best outing but I'm sure he'll regain his form in no time. Brubaker came in and held our lead with two scoreless innings and Buttó came in as the closer in the 9th for a scoreless inning. Schmitt had a great game the night before, but as per the usual problem with the Giants, consistency is needed to supass .500 and make the playoffs, every game matters. Schmitt finished with a single, and three strikeouts, which isn't bad in terms of batting average, but I would like to see him try to get more line drives. Overall, that's a note I want to see the Giants perform, focus less on swining for the fences and get line drives to get runners on bases. Too often I see players who aren't big hitter continuously swing and fly out, I get it's part of the game, but we need to work on our on base strategy as well.

Overall, this has been a great bounce back series from the Yankees series, the batting is progressivley getting better, more reps are needed for Logan Webb, and the most important part, the team is able to get a win.
